Four Reasons to Join Us Saturday Night
A Band That Fills the Dance Floor
The Nashville Soundz doesn't play background music. They play the kind of soul, funk, and R&B that pulls you onto the dance floor. Horns, groove, energy — all night long.
A Dinner Worth Dressing Up For
Beef tenderloin and rack of lamb. Sushi display. Shrimp & grits made to order. And then — bananas foster with house-made ice cream. This is not a typical awards buffet.
Watch the Red Jackets Get Awarded
Two names added to the winners board. Two champions slip on the scarlet blazer. Be in the room when it happens — not hearing about it the next morning.
Bring Your Partner — A Night to Remember
Cap off a great weekend with a spectacular Saturday night together — live music, extraordinary food, and the best company in Nashville.
Live Entertainment
Nashville Soundz
Nashville Soundz brings a full-band experience packed with horns, rhythm, and voices that fill the room. Think Otis Redding, Al Green, Aretha, Earth Wind & Fire — delivered by Nashville musicians who live for the moment the room catches fire.

This is not a DJ. This is not a playlist. This is a live band that feeds off the crowd — and the crowd feeds right back.

A Taste of the Evening
"The golf is why you come. The red jacket is why you play hard."
The Course — Hillwood Country Club

Originally designed by Dick Wilson and opened in 1957, Hillwood's par 72 stretches over 7,000 yards. Renovated by Bruce Hepner of Renaissance Golf in 2003 and 2011 — home to the best greens in Nashville.

Holes 10, 11, 12, and 18 are the Saturday Shootout holes. The red jacket is decided right here.

History & Tradition

Over Six Decades of Summer Hummer
What began in August 1965 as a bold departure from ordinary club tournaments — 224 players, 112 teams, a best-ball format, and a promise of the most fun golf in Nashville — has grown into a beloved institution. The Summer Hummer is not just a tournament. It is a living tradition, written one champion at a time.

The Red Jacket
Since the very first Summer Hummer, champions have been awarded the coveted red jacket — a scarlet blazer marking you as one of the elite few to conquer this field. In 1965, Stan Overton and Bill Bowman were the first to wear it. In 2026, two more names join that distinguished company.

Mounted in the Hillwood clubhouse, the Summer Hummer Winners Board is one of the most storied displays in Nashville golf — a permanent record of every Red Jacket champion since 1965. In 2026, two new names will be added. Could one be yours?
